Food Rescue Warriors

Nominated by community members, this honor recognizes someone in the Quad Cities who goes above and beyond to ensure food is not waste but is rescued.

  • 2024: Chassie Peck & Daughters
    • On Wednesdays, Chassie picks up her daughters from school and goes straight into food rescue mode. Chassie models what it is to be committed to something that helps other people. As of the September 2024 Food Rescue Workshop, Chassie and her daughters had rescued more than 1,230 pounds of food!
  • 2022: Phillip Pridemore
    • While chef at LINKS Breakfast & Lunch, Phillip cooked and served 85-95% local meats and produce, repurposed foods into other dishes, donated egg flats, shells, and produce peels to farmers for animal feed, and composted at home!
  • 2020: Yolanda Jefferson
    • Professionally cooking since she was 15 years old, Yolanda has a contagious passion to reduce food waste. She works tirelessly picking up donations and preparing meals to make sure food gets to hungry bellies in the community instead of to the landfill.
